DailyVale: It’s either build or buy. That is the question posed to constellation developers
Many constellation developers are deciding to construct their own satellites. According to Brad Grady, the president as well as chief operating officer of Northern Sky Research, the set of constellations that rely on in-house manufacture has increased from 32 % to 43 % in the last year.
Many companies choose to create their own satellites in order to keep management of their intellectual property plus achieve aggressive production deadlines. Companies must still decide how much to construct in-house, according to Grady. Is it necessary for them to be as vertically integrated as the SpaceX company?
